Commissioners Emeriti

To recognize distinguished and exemplary service to the Council of Commissioners, an honorific appointment process and related criteria for Commissioner Emeritus was established by the Council of Commissioners of the New Frontiers School Board.

The criteria for such appointments is based on the nature and scope of contributions made by a commissioner, after the completion of a commissioner’s term. The appointment is in recognition of distinguished and exceptional service to the Council for a period of no less than 12 years, and is made on the recommendation of the Governance & Ethics Committee.

The appointment is for an unlimited term to recognize, in perpetuity, exemplary service and dedication.

On December 3, 2024, the Council of Commissioners unanimously conferred the title of Commissioner Emeritus on two former members.

At a ceremony held of December 10, 2024, Messrs D’Aoust and Pirani were honoured as Commissioners Emeriti and each presented with a plaque.
